The best iTunes free download yet: M.I.A.'s "Galang." The critical discourse surrounding Maya Arulpragasam has been simultaneously so explosive and so deeply boring, mired down in issues of identity politics, cultural appropriation and assorted post-colonial trivialities, that I have no desire to join it. But let me just say that although all of the extra-musical hullabaloo has sometimes distracted from it, this is some of the most exciting, strange, adventurous and joyful music out there right now.
