Dour Brit pop played by Canadian people.

Published June 3, 2005 4:15PM (EDT)

Two songs from records I've already featured songs from have recently been made available for free download:

"Who Are You, Defenders of the Universe," by the Dears, doesn't have the drama of some of their better songs, but if you're in the mood for dour Brit pop played by Canadian people, this is your puppy.

"Everybody Sings," from Supersystem's "Always Never Again," is very similar to "Born Into the World," the other song I featured from the record. And as with "Born Into the World," I feel essentially indifferent about the song until the killer North African guitar riff kicks in for the chorus -- which, yes, suggests that I should probably just be listening to some North African pop music instead.
