Daily Download: "(I Can't Seem to) Make You Mine," the Clientele

An exclusive download from the Clientele's gorgeous new album

On their latest record, "Strange Geometry," the Clientele sound just as they've always sounded (which is just how I like them): The '60s seen through 20/100 vision with tears in your eyes, a wash of chiming guitars with Alisdair MacLean's double-tracked vocals draped over the top like a pashmina shawl. Opening track "Since K Got Over Me" (available here for free download) is the band at their cleanest and clearest and perhaps most user-friendly, but my favorite track is "(I Can't Seem to) Make You Mine," in which they go into slow jam mode and add just a dash of R&B balladry. Divine.
