Si*Sé is a New York collective that plays a slick and streamlined mélange of downtempo electronica, trip-hop, and a hodgepodge of lightly clubified Latin rhythms. Their self-titled debut was released in 2001 on David Byrne's Luaka Bop label, and now they're back with "More Shine." At times, as on the title track, this album sounds remarkably like Sade with more cluttered production. On "Amiga," one of the standout tracks, a roughly sawed fiddle further livens up the sleek clubland atmosphere.
