The new CNN/USA Today/Gallup Poll is out, and the numbers are about what you'd expect in light of the war in Iraq, the Valerie Plame case, the Harriet Miers nomination and gas prices that are dropping but still seem plenty painful. The poll hands Bush his worst approval rating ever. Just 39 percent of the public approves of the job he's doing, down from 45 percent a couple of weeks ago. Fifty-eight percent disapprove of the president's job performance.
