Now in War Room: You

An introduction to our new comments feature.

Published October 19, 2005 7:32PM (EDT)

When we launched War Room's redesign back in August, we said that we'd be adding reader comments to the mix in the "not so distant future." The future -- or at least that part of it -- is now.

Under each new post now, you'll find a comment bar with two self-explanatory choices: "Post a comment" or "Read comments." You can post anonymously if you prefer, and from time to time we'll single out particularly interesting comments as "editor's choices." For more on how the new system works, check out Salon editor Joan Walsh's introduction here. (We're making use of Salon's new letters-to-the-editor functionality -- hence the references to "letters to the editor" you may encounter as you begin to post and read comments.)

When we launched the redesign, you responded with hundreds of comments and suggestions. You helped us improve War Room, and you helped us design our new comment function; many of you said that you wanted the comments segregated from the regular War Room posts, and we've set things up just that way. Now we'd like to solicit your input again. If you have questions or suggestions about our new comment function, please let us know at warroomdesign@salon.com. And as always, if you have questions, comments or tips for War Room more generally, send them to us at warroom@salon.com.
