Manipulating Mariah's weight

... and Jessica Simpson gets bitchy.

Ada Calhoun's daily Nerve column Scanner is always a great read, but today I noticed two small items that seemed worthy of Broadsheet's attention.

The first seems to have a broken link, but shows an image of a blog page with photographs of a typically scantily-clad Mariah Carey looking atypically plump. According to Calhoun, the images have been manipulated as part of a new game: "mocking Mariah Carey's recent weight gain by adding far more weight with Photoshop."

Classy.

Then Calhoun tracks down the lithograph that Jessica Simpson was reported by Page Six to have purchased for $1,000. It's by cartoon artist Todd Goldman and shows a stick-figure girl above the phrase "You say I'm a bitch like it's a bad thing!"
