We've loved Craig Ferguson and his sometimes rambling, always odd opening monologues for a while now, but last night's show was really unforgettable. Ferguson's father died on Sunday, and instead of playing happy for the camera, the host transformed the opening monologue into a eulogy and invited close friends Dr. Drew Pinsky and actress Amy Yasbeck (widow of John Ritter) on as guests along with Scottish band the Wicked Tinkers. Anyone who's lost someone very close knows how hard it is to take it public, and how uncomfortable it can make even close friends -- so hats off to Ferguson for having the courage to share his grief.
