Unlike the multi-hour, three-channel coverage of the Oscar red carpet, the Independent Spirit Awards gets one half hour on the We network. Think that meant a lowkey, concise affair with smart indie types talking about Jarmusch and Herzog? Maybe -- but we didn't see that. Instead we were subjected to the charms of reporters who make Billy Bush look like Morley Safer. These maroons were so thick they made us think they were purposely trying to rile the stars. Sadly, they weren't.
