Sweden's Nicolai Dunger is constantly compared to Van Morrison, but while he and his intimate, often desolate music are much more than just Morrison retread, this song, from his latest "Here's My Song, You Can Have It ... I Don't Want It Anymore/Yours 4-Ever," is him at his most baldly derivative. No matter, though, because it's a tremendously confident, casually assured vocal performance of a joyful song, and Dunger is expertly backed by Mercury Rev, who sneak some nice lyrical piano lines into the mix.
