Whoa, Nellie!

Horsing around with high fashion.

Published May 23, 2006 11:36AM (EDT)

It must be hard to write about fashion, especially in the spring, when stories seem to repeat themselves every year: strappy sandals, blisters, bikinis, long shorts, wedges and capri pants till you puke. Fashion writers have got to be dying to mix it up a little.

But the following fashion bulletin, from Philly.com made me ... well, snort with laughter: "It is no surprise that horses -- with their exquisite good looks and graceful moves -- have been inspiring fashion and home decor since the days of prehistoric cave paintings." The story showed a pair of horsey flip-flops from Paul Frank.

So there you go, ladies. Spring fashions are hitting the streets. Giddyap.
