This track, a preview from the Ontario-based duo’s upcoming LP “So This Is Goodbye,” is genuinely funky — a quality rarely attempted, let alone attained, by indie electronica acts. The heavy breathing that punctuates the squelching beat tiptoes towards absurdity, but it’s also a fantastic rhythmic device, and gives the song a squirmingly sexy edge, a welcome touch of dirtiness from a squeaky-clean band.
