Matt Lauer's dogged pursuit of answers during his interview with President Bush Monday was a pretty remarkable four-minute exchange, with Lauer really pressing Bush on his administration's rationale for torturing prisoners. Bush kept saying he wouldn't go into specifics on torture techniques "because we don't want the enemy to adjust." How are they going to adjust to waterboarding -- by growing gills? Bush continued on, jabbing at Lauer with his finger. "My job is to protect you," he kept saying -- almost resentfully, we might add.
