The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that the Virginia Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans will be holding a news conference today to respond to Sen. George Allen's efforts to distance himself from symbols of the Confederacy he once embraced. "Sen. Allen in the past has been a friend," said Brag Bowling, a national officer for the group. "But he has apparently turned 180 degrees as far as honoring Virginia's history and heritage."
