Lambchop's new "Damaged" is too good for just one post. Yesterday we had an exclusive of "Prepared (2)," but there are two other tracks from the album available for free download online. "Crackers" is a mid-tempo song (up-tempo by Lambchop standards) with some vestiges of their early country sounds and Wagner's typically enigmatic lyrics like, "Avoid even the casual relationship to cheese." "The Decline of Country and Western Civilization," which closes the album, is a fairly atypical track but a thrilling one, with Wagner's normally clipped phrases turned dense, stormy, fierce, becoming a rant that returns again and again to the refrain, "Damn, they're looking ugly to me."
