The popularity of Jason Molina's Magnolia Electric Co. and their undistinguished, dull country-rock mystifies me -- check out "Lonesome Valley" from their latest, "Fading Trails" -- so I was surprised by the lonesome power of this song, with a striking, resonant vocal performance, from Molina's upcoming solo disc, "Let Me Go Let Me Go Let Me Go."
