The Foley effect? A close race in Florida, so far

Foley's GOP replacement is in a neck-and-neck fight with Democrat Tim Mahoney.

If the Mark Foley scandal suddenly seems like something from a very long time ago ... well, you didn't vote today in Florida's 16th Congressional District. Among those who did -- and whose votes have been counted so far -- just under half pushed the button next to Foley's name. A vote for Foley goes for his GOP replacement, Joe Negron, who is currently running neck-and-neck against Democrat Tim Mahoney with about half of the precincts reporting.
