The Democrats appear to have gone two-for-two on defense: The networks called New Jersey for Bob Menendez earlier tonight, and now CNN is saying that Democrat Ben Cardin will beat Michael Steele in Maryland.

If these results hold, Democrats are now looking for four pickups to take control of the Senate. The races to keep watching: Virginia, Missouri, Montana, Rhode Island and Tennessee.

Update: Although RNC chairman Ken Mehlman appears to be skeptical of the call for Cardin, Fox News has also projected a Democratic victory in Maryland.
