A "disappointing" night for Republicans

"Many of our voters have come to believe that we value power over principle."

John McCain, who may be watching returns with a little more self-interest two years from now, just told Fox News that the election results he's seen so far tonight are "disappointing." "I think this is because many of our voters have come to believe that we value power over principle, that we came to Washington to reform the government and became part of the government," he said.

Asked if he's part of the problem or part of the solution, McCain said all Republicans need to "sit down" and listen to the voters now, then "get back to our conservative principles."
