A free download of crisp, expert electronica.

Martin Dosh's latest record, "The Lost Take," is a largely instrumental album of expertly executed, electronica-tinged post-rock. Dosh is inventive with his sounds, astute in his choice of collaborators, including Andrew Bird, and obviously a skilled composer. But often the results are too smooth, as if a Muzak artist is trying to break free from his experimental shackles, or too tricky, as you can hear Dosh (a drum teacher) just aching to demonstrate his chops. Occasionally he hits just right, though, as on "Unemployed Blues," which is a little bit reminiscent of Audiofile favorites the Books. Also available for free download is "Um, Circles and Squares."
