Good news for the "stay the course" crowd: In a new Harris Interactive poll, only 51 percent of Americans say they want to see their government set a timetable for the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq. Bad news for the "stay the course" crowd: An additional 18 percent don't want a timetable because they want all the troops brought home now. Translation: An overwhelming 69 percent of Americans want either a timetable or instant withdrawal.

Oh, and then there's this: Sixty-eight percent of the poll's respondents say that the Bush administration's protestations notwithstanding, Iraq is now engaged in a civil war.
