While Ron Sexsmith's songwriting is always what has gotten him the most attention, it's his singing that really gets me, as I was reminded by his gorgeous rendition of "Comrades Fill No Glass for Me" on the recent Steven Foster tribute "Beautiful Dreamer." The man makes a spectacular torch singer, and the elegiac mode suits him particularly well: Here's the final track off his latest, "Time Being."
