Yes, we know, we’ve already identified two separate quotes as our “Quote of the Day,” but we just couldn’t resist another one.

“Mr. Libby was a very busy man, but he wasn’t stupid; nobody’s going to tell you he was a nut.”

That’s from Ted Wells, Scooter Libby’s defense attorney; it’s his attempt to explain why his client would not perjure himself by making up a lie he thought he might be caught in. It brought more than a couple of laughs from the media room, where reporters and bloggers are watching a closed-circuit broadcast of the trial.
