Hagel announces that he has no announcement

Citing "unpredictable political currents," the Nebraska senator says he'll make a decision about the future in the future

Nebraska Sen. Chuck Hagel announced today that America "stands at an historic crossroads in its history" -- and that he'll be standing right there for now.

Although there was much speculation that Hagel would be using today's press conference at the University of Nebraska to announce a White House run, he said that he's not ready to make any decisions yet. Saying that "the political currents in America are more unpredictable today than at any time in modern history," Hagel declared: "I am here today to announce that my family and I will make a decision on my political future later this year."
