Wolfowitz on the rocks

The Iraq war architect gets a chance to tell his story, but it may be too late.

The good news for Iraq war architect Paul Wolfowitz: As the Washington Post reports, he'll get a chance to "argue for his job" before a World Bank committee investigating his decision to hook his girlfriend up with a high-paying job at the State Department.

The bad news for Wolfowitz: It may be too late. A senior World Bank official suggests, in an interview with the Post, that members of the committee have already decided to recommend that Wolfowitz be fired.
