The promise keeper vs. the spineless wimps

The Washington Post frames the Iraq debate.

As we noted Wednesday, the Washington Post topped its front-page story about the president's veto of Congress' Iraq plan with the Bush-as-promise-keeper headline "Bush Keeps Vow to Veto War Funding Bill."

Today's inevitable front-page follow-up: "Democrats Back Down on Iraq Timetable."

Update: As Greg Sargent reports, the Post's headline writers may be more than spinny; they may be wrong. While an aide to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi apparently told the Post that the timetable for withdrawal will have to go before Bush will sign off on funds for the troops, aides to both Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid say their bosses haven't actually agreed to do pull the timetable language yet.
