Along with Feist, Metric's Emily Haines is one of the queen bees of the Canadian indie-rock scene. And while she hasn't been quite as able as her fellow countrywomen have to translate that status into success south of the 49th parallel, Haines could be in for a lot more attention if her band's upcoming "Grow Up and Blow Away" features any other tracks with even half the sleek, danceable new-wave appeal of "Hardwire."
