At an awards ceremony Tuesday night, Fox News CEO Roger Ailes blasted Democratic candidates who refuse to participate in any presidential debate sponsored by his network. "The candidates that can't face Fox can't face al-Qaida," he said.

A spokesman for the network is backpedaling, saying that Ailes was simply "repeating a comment made to him by many friends of his who are Democrats and are disappointed that their party is not currently debating on Fox."
