The time for iPhone is 6 p.m.

Apple announces the hour its new super-phone goes on sale.

A couple weeks ago Apple told us that iDay is June 29. Now we learn the hour Apple's new iPhone will go on sale: 6 p.m. in your time zone.

On Monday, Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO, mentioned the time in his speech at Apple's developer conference -- but he said it in such an off-handed way nobody knew if he was serious. Yesterday, Apple made it official.

Folks on the East Coast will have the phone three hours longer than the good people out in Apple's hometown. Maybe while I'm waiting in line I can call up my NYC friends to ask how they think their new iPhones will change their lives.
