Song of the Day: "Spitting at the Cameras," Wooden Wand

Dylanisms and rusticisms abound on this modern folk song.

Under the guise of Wooden Wand, James Jackson Toth has released more than 20 vinyl LPs, cassettes and CDs of haunted, mystical folk. But it's only during the folk explosion of the last few years that his work has started to attract serious notice. Sporting a beautifully simple, homespun acoustic arrangement and some hallucinatory, Dylan-esque lyrics, "Spitting at the Cameras," from Wooden Wand's new album, "James and the Quiet," shows why the increased attention is well deserved.
