New NIE on Iraq: The prognosis is grim

U.S. intelligence agencies predict the Iraqi government will grow weaker over the next six to 12 months.

The not exactly surprising conclusion of the newly released National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq: "Iraqi political leaders remain unable to govern effectively," and the current Iraqi government -- that thing we're supposed to be supporting with the "surge" -- will become even more precarious over the next year.
