If you've ever traveled through Europe, the sentiments expressed by the Europeans interviewed in the documentary "The Anti-Americans: A Hate/Love Relationship" (10 p.m. EDT on PBS, check local listings) won't surprise you. What will surprise you is the wide range of emotional reactions that America solicits in France, Britain and Poland. Even if you agree with the very reasonable gripes about our foreign policy, hearing those old refrains about how all Americans are stupid and shallow can set your teeth on edge. Recognizing that, the filmmakers balance humor (one French woman marvels at how fat everyone was in Chicago when she visited there) with insightful commentary on why these countries are obsessed with America in the first place.
