The Republicans' race for third

Thompson, McCain, Giuliani and Paul are far behind but close together.

If the network projections hold, with Mike Huckabee taking first and Mitt Romney second in Iowa, it's now a race for third. It couldn't be much closer than it is right now: With 41 percent of the precincts reporting, Fred Thompson, John McCain, Rudy Giuliani and Ron Paul are all within three percentage points of one another.
