Wrap your heads around this one, desperate TV watchers of the world: Tonight, fishing around for something to watch in a sea of reruns, you'll be forced to choose between NBC's "American Gladiators" (8 p.m. EST on NBC) and "Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann" (8 p.m. EST on ABC). It seems America just can't get enough of attractive humans battling it out in spandex. Whether you want to see those spandex-clad humans singing and dancing or hurling giant wrecking balls at each other's heads is really a matter of personal taste. If only the networks would collaborate a little, we could watch "American Gladiator Dance War" instead, and enjoy the sight of muscular behemoths knocking each other off 10-foot-high balance beams while crooning "Anything Goes" by Cole Porter -- a fitting theme for these desperate times on the small screen.

Also…

"Antiques Roadshow" (9 p.m. EST on PBS, check listings) returns for a 12th season tonight, starting in Baltimore, while John Cusack pours on the angsty charm in "High Fidelity" (9 p.m. EST on E!). The "Critics Choice Awards" air at 9 p.m. EST on VH1. Patricia Arquette returns for a fourth season of "Medium" at 10 p.m. EST on NBC, and Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations" returns for its fourth season at 10 p.m. EST on Travel.
