Desperation doesn't become most people, but sometimes when a TV franchise gets desperate, things get interesting. "Celebrity Apprentice" (9 p.m. EST on NBC) might have needed a miracle to get on the air (let alone stay on the air) during any other TV season, but thanks to the writers' strike, The Donald was handed a reprieve (which he, no doubt, immediately recast as a strong vote of confidence from NBC and America!). From Gene Simmons to Carol Alt, the celebrities of "Celebrity Apprentice" don't impress us all that much (outside of Nadia Comaneci), no matter how many times they call in favors from their friends in high places -- but at least Omarosa the Merciless is there to torture them all.

Also…

Tonight is the last episode of "Grey's Anatomy" (9 p.m. EST on ABC) until the writers' strike ends (if it ever does), so soak up as much McDreamy as possible while you still can. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers kick off the sixth season of "Soundstage" (premieres at 10 p.m. EST on PBS, check listings), while "Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew" (premieres 10 p.m. EST on VH1) features the addiction battles of Brigitte Nielson, Daniel Baldwin and former "American Idol" contestant Jessica Sierra, among others. And after last week's casting special, you already know that Bravo's "Make Me a Supermodel" (premieres at 10 p.m. EST) should be a complete and utter waste of time -- so enjoy!
