So long, Stepp!

Hookup hand-wringer Laura Sessions Stepp is leaving the Washington Post.

Surely, this means the sexual apocalypse is nigh: Laura Sessions Stepp is leaving the Washington Post. The newspaper reports today that Stepp, along with more than 100 other Post staffers, took a buyout offer. Stepp -- author of "Unhooked: How Young Women Pursue Sex, Delay Love and Lose at Both" -- is known for her hand-wringing over "hookup" culture, calls for a return to '50s-style femininity, and hip-wit-it reporting on "rainbow parties," "wingmen" and "gray rape." Who now will catalog stale collegiate mating rituals for the mainstream, defend boys against sexually aggressive girls, expose young women as emotionally dead and tell rape victims that it was their fault for drinking too much?

If only the answer were "no one" -- nonetheless, her departure calls for a true celebration. You bring the Jäger, I'll bring the lipstick: time for a "rainbow party," some "freak dancing," sloppy hookups and maybe even "gray rape"!
