Obama to Clinton: Want to meet?

The presumptive Democratic nominee and the runner-up chat.

After playing a little bit of voicemail tag, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton talked by phone early Wednesday morning.

There isn't a lot of detail about what exactly the two said to each other, but Obama communications director Robert Gibbs told Time's Mark Halperin that "about 12:16 am ET Obama and Clinton chatted by phone where Obama congratulated her [for her win in South Dakota] and reiterated his offer to 'sit down when it makes sense for you.'"

While Clinton agreed to a meeting, no specific plans were made for the two to get together on Wednesday.
