Excited to be here

A new blogger joins the battle in Salon's War Room.

Thanks to Alex for the kind intro, and to Joan Walsh and everybody at Salon for inviting me to be part of the team here. I am excited to be on board. For those unfamiliar with my writings as an author, columnist for the Baltimore Sun, freelancer here and other outlets, and blogger for the American Prospect's Tapped, my areas of expertise, insofar as I have them, are electoral and party politics. I also like to write about media coverage of politics and occasionally pro and college sports. (I was a sportswriter during my grad school days at the University of North Carolina.)

But, for the most part, and certainly through November, I'll be keeping close tabs on the presidential and congressional races, plus any down-ballot developments worthy of mention. Thanks for tuning in, please excuse any publishing mistakes I might make as I get used to the site's logistics, and feel free to e-mail me at tschaller@salon.com with your comments and suggestions.
