Welcome Tom Schaller

Frequent Salon contributor Tom Schaller will be blogging in War Room a couple of days each week.

When I started blogging here in War Room earlier this year, I mentioned that we had some really exciting ideas about how to improve the blog. One of the things we've been kicking around for a little while was an idea to have more than one regular blogger, and I'm very happy to announce that as of today we're adding one of the best political writers out there -- Tom Schaller.

You may recognize Tom's name from Salon; he has been a regular contributor for us in the past two years. He's also associate professor of political science at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and the author of Whistling Past Dixie: How Democrats Can Win Without the South, as well as a twice-monthly political columnist for the Baltimore Sun. He has also been published in the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times and Boston Globe, among others, and has appeared on ABC News, MSNBC and "The Colbert Report," to name a few.

Tom and I will be switching off days in War Room, with each of us taking a couple of days a week. He'll introduce himself later, and will be blogging here today and tomorrow -- please join me in welcoming him.
