Apparently, John McCain's campaign isn't the only one that's willing to get a little nasty when the issue of just how many houses McCain owns. As I noted earlier, in an ad that implicitly dealt with the issue, the McCain camp tried to shift the focus onto Barack Obama and his connections with Tony Rezko. Now, the Obama campaign has put out a spot, titled "Out of Touch," that directly attacks McCain.

"Call it 'country club economics,'" the ad's narrator says. "How many houses does he own? John McCain says he can't even remember anymore ... No wonder McCain just said the fundamentals of our economy are strong ... Maybe McCain thinks this economy is working for folks like him. But how're things goin' for you?"

By the way, you have to love how neatly the Obama camp slipped in that footage of McCain riding in a golf cart with the elder George Bush.
