McCain: Obama didn't call Palin a pig

After all the frenzy whipped up by his campaign was over with, John McCain finally spoke up.

Remember all that fury from Republicans who claimed that Barack Obama had, in using an old line about putting "lipstick on a pig," actually called Sarah Palin a pig? Remember the seemingly endless discussion of the "issue" in the media? The ad John McCain's campaign put out about it?

Nevermind.

In an interview with the Associated Press on Monday, McCain himself was asked whether he thought Obama had called Palin a pig. "No," McCain responded, "[but I] know that he chooses his words carefully, and it was the wrong thing to say."

Seems like he could have maybe mentioned that first part of his answer about a week ago.
