Sarah Palin and the McCain campaign had sought, and received, an extension to the deadline for Palin to release her family's tax returns. She had until Monday, Oct. 6, to do so -- but, unsurprisingly, the McCain camp chose to take advantage of a slow Friday afternoon, the traditional time for a document dump, and release them today.

The Palins released their 2006 and 2007 returns; all told, they reported just under $294,000 in adjusted gross income in those two years. The returns, and a financial disclosure form, can be downloaded here.
