Polls closed in first group of states

None of the key states have been called yet; so far, the networks aren't going out on any limbs.

Big news: Come 7 p.m., polls in several states are closed and we can now call Kentucky for John McCain and Vermont for Barack Obama!

No, just kidding -- if either of those states didn't go the way they did, then we know we'd have real problems. So far, we're still waiting to hear on results from Georgia, Indiana and Virginia, three states that could be key bellwethers of how tonight will play out.
