For the second time, South Dakotan voters rejected an attempt to pass a law that would have greatly restricted abortion. Gay-marriage bans in Florida and Arizona appear set for passage. With 32 percent of the vote in, Proposition 8 in California, which would ban same-sex marriage, was passing 53-47 percent.
