Video of the day

Don't ever make a bet with Florida Sen. Bill Nelson.

Let the experience of Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., be a lesson to you, kids: Gambling is wrong, and can only lead to a bad end -- like being forced to sing an Elton John song. Very badly. In public.

Coburn bet with Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., on the results of college football's national title game; since the Oklahoma Sooners lost to the Florida Gators, under the terms of the wager, Coburn had to sing "Rocket Man" for some of Nelson's constituents.

The video, via The Hill, is below. I don't want to spoil it, but I will say this -- it's not as good as William Shatner's version. In fact, it almost makes me long for the musical stylings of former Sen. John Ashcroft. On the other hand, hearing Coburn sing about being "hiiiiiigh as a kite" is worth the price of admission.
