Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich may have avoided his own impeachment trial for the past few days, but he's now announced that he'll show up after all, and deliver a closing argument. The state senators deciding his fate will not be allowed to ask questions.

The Chicago Sun-Times notes that news of Blagojevich's decision "caused several senators to smile and shake their heads."

Because this news puts me in a good mood -- I feel like a little kid who just has to wait one more day to unwrap his presents -- I've provided the following video, the inspiration for the headline of this post, for your enjoyment.
