Neugebauer, not Hensarling

A correction to "The Republican Prescription: Do Nothing"

Published February 12, 2009 4:09PM (EST)

I made a serious error in yesterday's post, "The Republican Prescription: Do Nothing." I misidentified Rep. Jeb Hensarling, R-Tx., as the congressman who asked the assembled banking CEOs why "we just don't let the market work these things out?" After Debbee Keller, Hensarling's press secretary, e-mailed me this morning questioning the veracity of the quote, I checked the transcript and discovered it was actually another Texas Republican, Rep. Randy Neugebauer, who asked the question. In my haste transcribing the live hearing, I screwed up.

I've corrected the original post and I regret the error.
