Trump: You're not fired!

Miss California gets to keep her crown for good.

It'll take more than topless photos and a belief in "opposite" marriage to knock Carrie Prejean from her throne. During Tuesday's much-hyped press conference, Donald Trump announced that the controversial beauty queen will remain ... a controversial beauty queen. Miss California is keeping her crown.

It seems the Miss Universe Organization has realized that, these days, you're unlikely to have a titleholder without a few nudie pics in her past. Or maybe Trump figured that the general public might actually recognize the hypocrisy of the organization acting scandalized over her topless photos after it paid for her breast implants so that she could confidently reveal them to the entire world during the swimsuit competition (and, come to think of it, every other portion of the pageant).

But, most of all, I hope this means that the mini-soap opera has -- please, pretty please -- come to an end.
