"Come out, come out, wherever you are!"

A new ad attacks the California Supreme Court's decision to uphold the gay marriage ban.

My heart was sent crashing to the floor when I heard the California Supreme Court's decision today to uphold the state's ban on same-sex marriage. But, as I quietly and privately picked up the pieces, there came a good reminder from the Courage Campaign to "come out, come out, wherever you are," as Harvey Milk famously said, and take my heartbreak public. The organization just released a remix of their tear-jerking viral video "Fidelity," which featured gay couples, and their adorable children, holding up signs reading: "Please don't divorce us." This new spot puts the issue of marriage equality in the context of other forms of discrimination -- on the basis of sex, age and race -- that are more broadly recognized and reviled. Take a look and, if you're so compelled, make a donation to get the ad on the air.
