If you haven't heard yet, President Obama has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009. Thorbjørn Jagland, the chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, made the announcement on Friday morning, saying that Obama received the prize "for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples."

"The Committee has attached special importance to Obama's vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons," Jagland added.

Below, video of Jagland's remarks. Obama is expected to speak from the Rose Garden about the prize at 10:30 am EDT.
